RICK,
I compressed the hd on my old computer. It had 118 problem areas. I
have a compression type command from dos 3.3 on the 386, and used that.
What program did you use to get the menu when you boot. I was thinking of
putting something like that on both of mine. Part of the autoexec bat
files from the pc-tools went into my extended memory, so at least that
isn't still a total waste.

I have had this signature, named "LOGODULL", for quite some time as an
uploadable file, but that was too tedious. Once I figured out how to turn
it into a Procomm+ macro without Procomm+ stripping the high bits (and if
you've never had your high bits stripped . . .), I began to use it; two
keystrokes and it's there.
The alternative was "LOGOFANC", which looks like this:
╥
║ ╓─╖ ╓─╖
╥ ║ ║ ║ ╟─╜
╙─╜ ╙─╜ ╙─╜
I tried out LOGOFANC a few times and David Birch liked the idea so much,
he asked me how to do it and worked up his own version.

Ah, the one that got away! Stocks seem to have new life breathed into
them once we sell them, don't they? As long as we have some "thrills of
victory" to talk about to temper the "agony of defeats", no harm is done.
Not every pick will be a winner and not every stock sold will subsequently
prove to be a loser.

Based on what I have been reading in this conference, will you make an
evaluation of my latest exploits?
1) Oct 8 87 bought company A at 16 1/8
2) Oct 30 87 after crash worth 7 7/8
3) Apr 6 88 Sold at 15 1/8
4)Company has since merged with another & I think I got out at the top.
5) Apr 6 88 Bought Company B at 31 1/4
6) Aug 5 88 Sold at 42 5/8 (also got 15 cent dividend.)
7) Aug 5 88 Bought company C at 42 1/4
8) May 11 89 Sold at 62 5/8 (also got 46 cent dividend x 3)
9) May 11 89 Bought Company D at 32 5/8 (No change to date)
All this was recommended by full service broker, so he got some perety
nice commisions on the deal.
What ya think?

Well, you weren't hurt too badly on Company A; it could have been worse
and you couldn't have foreseen the crash. On Company B and C, you made
35% (105.6% annualized) and 47% (61% annualized) respectively. I would
say that, if you can do this consistently, you can start planning for
early retirement. Your broker sounds as if he doesn't "churn" your
account and you can't argue with his performance. If it ain't broke . . .

Your prediction for a correction? Well, good news seems to alternate with
bad news and the market seems to move in reaction to either in any way
which darn well pleases it at the moment. I have the same feeling I have
when my wife is giving me directions for rearranging furniture. Your
logic for predicting a correction this month is impeccable. Therefore,
you're probably 180° off.
Remember the definition of a correction as opposed to a crash? A
correction is when YOUR stocks go down; a crash is when MY stocks go down.

MARKT531
The latest from Investor's Online:
┐4
Programs on both sides easily yanked around a market that possessed
little sense of direction. Turnover improved only slightly from
yesterday's levels and selective strength in technology helped feed
some intrady rally attempts. Most averages finished slightly on plus
side in spite of a late downdraft.
In the last week, the DJIA has created a small (negative) non-
confirmation between itself and the transports and utilities. This
is not yet a big deal but could correspond to further trading
setbacks if not addressed in the next week or so. The transports
reached a new closing high on Friday & the utilities challenged their
highs the same day, but the industrials didn't. Individual stocks
still need tending to whether or not the non-confirmation stands. On
bounces take some profits in UPJ, CHA, RBD in trading accounts.
THE STRATEGIST - MAY 30, 1989
It was bound to happen. After all, eventually more people were
going to recognize that it was not the same. It could not be hidden
from the prying eyes of the media forever. The word is out. The front
page of the May 26, 1989 Wall Street Journal says it all: "Persistent
Rally." Apparently after nearly a year and a half, "... long rise in
stocks finally gains converts."
Does this mean that the trend is over, now that the majority has
finally turned bullish? Hardly. While we do subscribe to contrary
opinion theory, which advocates going against the crowd, we also
recognize that there are times when the majority is correct, at least
for a while. One of the features of C.O.T. is that before one goes
contrary to the crowd, there first must be some technical reason,
which is generally given by the market itself. In other words, one
should not be contrary just to be contrary.
It is also important to pay attention to what people are doing, not
just to what they are saying. The old maxim that actions speak louder
than words is correct when it comes to evaluating the marketplace.
Even if it is correct that the consensus has shifted to the bullish
case, there is no evidence that the majority has abandoned its
cautious posture and now is shifting funds from CD's and money market
funds.
As simplistic as it is, the trend-is-your-friend approach to
trading and investing generally proves to be effective. Earlier
this year, we stated that we would "trade over the top," which means
we will attempt to continue to exploit the advance until there is
definitive evidence that the uptrend has fully run its course. This
approach means that at some point we will be wrong, but if we an
recognize our mistake early enough, our losses will be minimal. Those
who have been waiting for the downleg, from the December 1987 low
which was supposed to equal the October 1987 slide, have missed an
advance of better than 40%. We have stated in pre-vious reports that
we still see more stocks building or completing base patterns than we
see building or completing topping formations. That is not to say
that some stocks are not in trouble technically or that one should
not be selective. However, there are still stocks that afford
technical near- and intermeidiate-term opportunities.
With the DJIA still several hundred points below its 1987 peak, we
be-lieve there remains room for the market to move up. Undoubtedly
some ex-tended groups and stocks will consolidate or even correct,
just as the market as a whole has done from time to time.
Nevertheless, the market has kept such adjustments relatively small
and it has persisted in finding areas to exploit when it has been
time for stocks and groups to rest or rotate out of favor.

Here are two suggestions for the enterprising "explorer" who is wise
enough not to trust in a black box. On the low end of the scale is
Technifilter Plus which runs around $399. This is a program for back-
testing all sorts of systems. The user develops a set of buy, stop and
sell signals and then gets a summary report on how the system would have
worked based on past market data. (profitability testing) The high end
of the same scale is System Writer Plus which checks in at a hefty $1995
(the Computrac of trading systems analysis). What you get, in addition to
an elaborate version of the previously described package is a VERY
friendly interface. One of the occasional log-ons on this board, John
Morgan, has a copy. Perhaps he can report on his progress with the
software. When I last spoke to him a couple of months ago, he was very
happy with it, but had only had it for a short while. I hope these
comments are helpful. I'm also aware of some software that generates
tick-by-tick simulations for "real-time" trading practice, but that sort
of thing had no appeal for me, so I haven't investigated further. Our
research people use Technifilter Plus, and handle over $60 million in
mutual fund money using signals developed with its help. We're currently
evaluating System Writer and will decide whether it's worth its hefty
price-tag over the course of the summer. By the way, to the best of my
knowledge neither program supports a math co-processor at this time
(System Writer might, TFP definitely does not... but the next version
ought to). A 286 (minimum) is advised. If there are any further
questions about these programs, leave a message for me here, I'll be
happy to supply further details.

IPSS as I understand it is the international version of Tymnet/Telenet
This can only connect to commercial systems like Compuserve, The Source
etc which have a leased line connection to the local PSS node. BBS
systems like this can only be accessed via a direct call as the only
interface is a modem connected to a telephone line. Hope this answers
your question. Graham Cole.

Brian, try downloading the file on this BBS called IMCAP2.ARC. It is
a good capture program and easy to operate. By using the capture program
you should be able to capture your charts online with it and then upload
them to the BBS.
On most computers after de-arcing the file just enter IMCAP and this
activates the capture program. Then when you have a chart or whatever on
your screen of your computer just push the shift key and the print screen
at the same time and it will be captured. Let me know if this works.

Can I take it you're no LONGER wet behind your auditory appendages?
Sorry to hear about you computer. Had a brief scare tonight with mine. I
tried to zip the latest Interlink conference messages. Suddenly got a 131
on the screen. Then nothing. When I restarted the Model 50, got a 162
and 163 error message. In IBM parlance this is a configuration problem.
Ran the config disk, but the message reappeared. Then tested the
computer. This was unfortunate. Begain getting system errors, even one
telling my my hard disk controller was kapooie. Not good. Beginning to
sweat, ran the config again. This time, when I rebooted, all worked fine.
But almost had the big heart attack there for a few minutes. I hope THIS
never happens again.

Re: " . . . I have bad FAT." Is that anything like LDL cholesterol?
There are many alternatives for addressing your problem. "Spinrite" will
test disk sectors and find bad ones or resurrect good ones which are
marked bad while leaving your data intact. "Disk Manager" is a complete
package (distributed with Seagate and other drives larger than 32MB).
IBM Advanced Diagnostics for the AT will do low-level format, among other
things. Are you SURE you need to do a low-level?
Re: the power surge. Is your system on a surge protector? If so, and it
was overpowered by a surge, it's either burned out or was never worth a
fig in the first place.
You might want to seek counsel over in the MS DOS Hardware topic. There
are some real disk gurus over there.

SmartZIP 0.90 (SMRTZP09.ZIP in the Mahoney collection) is a companion
program to PKZIP. SmartZIP is used essentially INSTEAD of PKZIP (it
SHELLs out to PKZIP internally) to isolate and use the best possible
compression algorithm for each file within a ZIP file. For example, to
create or add to a ZIP file called "MYZIP.ZIP", you would simply enter :
SMARTZIP MYZIP
This would use "*.*" as a file mask by default, but file masks with wild
cards are allowed. SMARTZIP would try shrinking and then binary
(reducing) level 4. If level 4 yielded better compression than shrinking,
SMARTZIP would try levels 3 to 1 searching for better compression. The
result is the smallest possible ZIP file.
I use it every day, mainly because I wrote it out of my own need for such
a program. The "extra" description and the .DOC files tell all.

Nope, ArcMaster won't do it, I don't think ─ not unless it empirically
identifies the optimum compression algorithm individually for EACH file
within a given ZIP file. There is no such thing as the best compression
level for ALL files. Even if you use Phil's "-ex" option, which selects
the best of either "shrinking" (the default) or -e4 (level 4 reducing),
there are still some files for which -e1, -e2 or -e3 yield the optimum
compression. The only way to get the optimum compression for EACH file
individually within a given ZIP file is to use a program like SmartZIP,
which empirically isolates the optimum compression algorithm file-by-file.
Well, I'm beginning to hyperventilate again, so I should stop now.

Thanks for the information about the C-Serve spreadsheet program. I
still use TWIN 1.5. Been thinking about upgrading to III but I think I
remember hearing someone mention that there was quite a wait for the III
so maybe I'll wait a while.

No problem, I've been working (Computerized Bad Debt/Check Corp.) and
trying to get Investograph + configured with the data files I have on 40+
issues. Some go back as far as 01/02/86, so it's a lengthy process. I'm
almost done, thankfully.
I have just rec'd Twin III Advanced, fanciest pkg I've seen. Wooden case
and a Cross pen included. The software runs under DOS, but to fully use
all the features, it needs more than 640K. Has multiple spreadsheet
linking, search & replace, Learn mode, and All the grapics of Chartman. I
haven't had time to read through the Three manuals, just skimmed them.
They offered a upgrade for about $110. Cheaper than Lotus 3! It has
drivers for EGA and will use all the memory it can find. I'm converting
to a AT (Sperry), used unit so memory won't be a problem. If you want a
copy of the upgrade info, let me know.

PAUL,
Thanks for the info on TWIN III ! I think I'm getting a little excited
about it. I only have 640K. How much memory does the fully loaded program
itself use? I've heard QUATTRO is also a memory hog.
I do have some rather giant worksheets so this could be a potential
problem for me. Just exactly what can be accomplished with multiple
worksheet "linking"?
I have a copy of the Mosaic "upgrade mailing" - thanks.

In a 640K PC W/O TSR'S, about 140-150K is open. I tried loading the
"Total Investor" (TI) spreadsheet and got the out of memory report. That
is probably the largest spreadsheet I have avail. for tests. I guess the
reports that programs will expand as large as memory are true.
Fortunately, memory chips are becoming more of a commodity item again.
256K 150-120Ns's are $5-7 each. So expanding to 1Meg is a $200-300
proposition, if you shop around.
Linking is useful for budget or monthly reports. They can than be
consolidated in Year-to-Date or End-of-Year Summary. The most useful
additions are Learn (Keystroke Recording) which writes Macro's
automatically and Search-and-Replace useful for What If's. I have heard
that you can upgrade to Diamond (Spreadsheet & Word Processor Combo) thru
PC-Systems on FL for $50. The same people that attempted to BUY Leading
Edge out. Fell thru when the programmer for the LE Word Processor wanted
his back royalties paid up.

Paul

Joe,
I'm STILL a novice but I want to understand the lines and squiggles. I+
had a very complete reference list in the appendix. Wilder's book is a
source on so many of the articles, it was worth owning. I also have a
discount source through Schwab, for some others.
Additional comments on I+, it requires data files in a VERY specific
format, so conversion of files takes TIME. But, as I was working last
night doing just that, the President of Libery called personally (Bob
McCollough). He wanted to answer some questions I reported last week. He
was very helpful in suggestions for analysis and commission calculations
for the trading portion. He will be sending a Demo! Also new version
will support EGA. I won't post in the general collection, but anyone
wanting a copy should contact me. There is 40+ pages of documentation
with the demo, so he wants everyone to have the whole pkg. They will also
answer any and all questions users of the demo have. I'll compute the
cost of copying and then make the package available. They ask $10, but I
can do it cheaper, in limited quantities. I will post a msg with
information and the Toll-free number once it arrives. Is that fair
enough?

well as they're treating you or have they caught on to your participation

The BBS only came up later in the conversation. I offered to Beta test
the EGA version, might reduce my cost? They offered to answer questions

software!
I'm finally done converting ALL my spreadsheet and SCTA data over to I+'s
format. I can now automate the data collection, portfolio update, and
charting. One nice feature I plan to use is channel settings and
automatic scan for break-outs. Seems like a good feature for
Mkt/Indicator changes. I'll keep everyone up on the process. I
understand that McCollough takes part in the lecture circuit, too. He
mentioned of several trading strategies they've been testing, Wilder's RSI
came in third. I'll give more info as I learn the in's & outs.

There are several programs for tracking your sticks, etc. Total Investor
is a Lotus 2.0+ spreadsheet application, Scan for TI and the companion
DOW88.zip. There is a shareware version of SCTA in the Mahoney collection
as well. MKTEGA or MKTCGA work with closing prices only and offer several
tracking formulas, the documentaion is good, too. You might scan for STK,
STOCK, and CHART for several others. I'll look in my ZIP's for some, ther
are at least 8-10 available here. It mostly depends on how much you want
to do. SCTA's registered version is only $10, which includes a Data
Downloading module for Warner/CompuServe. Happy to answer any questions.

HIGHTECH Stock tracking pkg.
PC-STOCK "
PFROI Return on Investments
SM48 Updated by newer version
SMEXPERT The update (I think)
STKPLOT Plotting program
STOCKMKT Lotus application
STOCKS30 Another charting Pkg
TI102A Lotus Spreadsheet W/Charting & Valuation (DOW88.ZIP-Data)
TEKSTK Another Chart Pkg
WATCHER "
$TKTRX3 " (Nice Graphs)
I think all of these are available as ZIP's here. My suggestion is
download a few (some are Large +150K files) and see how they operate for
you. Some are charting only others like TI102A are complete Valuation &
Charting. Others like PFROI are Value only. Hope the info helps.
Compare pricing to register, some are as expensive as Commercial pkg's and
others are very reasonable. Hope the list helps.

I thought some of the "Silent" participants might wonder what is available
also. Some of the programs work very well for small (5-15) issues.
Mutual fund purchase & sale timing is better with some programs than
others. I hesitate to recommend any particular package because each
persons needs vary. The documentation for every program is helpful for
suggested readings (Books) and what various people feel is the most
important. If anyone is interested in a comparison of BUY&HOLD vs.
TRADING, look at "Stock Market Trading Systems" by Gerald Appel & Fred
Hitschler, Dow Jones-Irwin, the difference is amazing. The data used is
old, but Not too very different than today's market. It also suggest some
indicators and how well they perform. I have Franklin Lib's copy but will

copyrighted material they produce not be indiscriminately appropriated by
others. However, the exposure and good PR they could obtain by allowing
their BBS comments to be distributed via investments-related boards is too
valuable to discard arbitrarily. PC Magazine had a similar problem with
their copyrighted utility programs. They addressed it by allowing liberal
distribution if the board doing the distribution received no compensation
for it. There are other good examples.
Other than free time on Exec, I can assure you that I receive no
compensation and Bob's compensation isn't affected one whit by whether we
have PC Magazine utilities or Dr. Young's comments on this board. Hope
they think about it and reconsider.

Joe,
Your comments are, as ever, perceptive, enlightening, and - well, I could
go on and on.
Your comments about Ted's "policy" were sent along to the Interlink.
We'll see if he reads them and reconsiders. In the meantime, INVST617.ZIP

See you when I get back from London.

Joe,
Ted has replied. But I'm only now catching up on the things since my

Market Commentary by Dr. Howard Young
The THURSDAY Report, June 8th, 1989
***********************************************
Our indicators suggest that the market could go higher, but that the risk
is still great.
I recommend investing in stocks that are coming off a long bottom, that
will probably back off only slightly if the market turns down, and that
have good upside potential.
The group includes Recognition Equipment (REC), a previously recommended
stock that has moved from 6 to 7 7/8, but which could go higher; and
Cullinet (CUL), another old favorite that is coming back. Also
recommended are: Interleaf (LEAF), Gerber Scientific (GRB), Lifetime
Corp. (LFT), Software Developers (SDEV), Softsel (SOFS), Micropro (MPRO),
and QMS (AQM).
Sell if the stock rises quickly and take profits.

WSOL COMMENTS
This, and the next message, contain the comments for the past few weeks
from Wall Street Online BBS:
***********************************************
Market Commentary by Dr. Howard Young
The WEDNESDAY Report, June 7th, 1989
***********************************************
One of our conservative recommendations, Gabelli (GAB), started to run
today, moving up as high as 14 5/8. The closed-end mutual fund probably
owns shares --or has a stake -- in some of the takeover companies. The
Zweig Fund (ZF) was as high as 11 1/4, and if the market moves higher,
it should follow suit.
The DJIA is making another attempt to reach the 2550 area. Our
indicators are in a strange, ambivalent state. Either we will be
getting a sharp move up in a short time or we will fall 100 to 200
points. Unfortunately, except for the fact that the move will be a
sharp one, the direction of the move is not clear: our indicators are
still giving off mixed signals.
The best strategy would be to buy out-of-the-money OEX puts and calls or
to buy calls on good stocks and some OEX puts as a hedge. As soon as
our indicators agree, I will establish a portfolio recommendation.
I will have a special message on tomorrow (Thursday) evening's hotline
and hope that the signals will be clear enough to enable me to make some
recommendations.
As the pundits say, when in doubt, sit it out -- or hedge.
Previous Market Commentary
The MONDAY Report, June 5th, 1989
Our indicators, which were giving off mixed signals, were all at the top
of the range, but I thought there might be one more swing up. I
estimated that the top might be around the 2560 area. (It actually
topped out at 2530.) However, because of the mixed signals, I
recommended exercising caution at this level.
My suggestion that you take profits quickly is based on the likelihood -
-given our current indicators -- that this back-and-forth type of market
will continue to be the norm in the near future. Investing in options,
as I suggested, may be the best strategy because in that way, if there
is a sudden crash, you would not be stuck with a major investment in the
market. I hope you are also following the play-it-safe strategy of
investing no more than 30% of your money in the market.
Where do we go from here? The indicators are still sending mixed
signals. As a result, we could have some more profit-taking and the
market would then move back up to test the previous high of 2530. I
would stand aside for now, at least until the indicators provide some
basis for a conclusion about market direction for the near term.
The first support line is at the 2450 level. If we continue to go down
by about 100-150 points, then this would suggest we may be in a
continuation fo the bear market and a major crash is possible.
Previous Market Commentary
The SUNDAY Report, June 4th, 1989
Our market predictions have been accurate to date, and -- based on the
reading of our current indicators -- the market should move higher. The
best strategy at this stage is to buy calls on indices and the stocks
that we have mentioned, thereby preserving capital in the event that the
downturn comes earlier than expected.
Gold may finally be getting ready to make its move, and options on Hecla
Mining (HL) are our choice for participating in this move. The July 12
1/2 HL should prove profitable.
A good way to participate in the rally with some degree of safety is to
buy the Zweig Fund, which has gone up 3/8 since our recommendation, and
the Gabelli Fund, which has also moved up 3/8 of a point. You can still
buy them at this level. However, you should buy enough so that you can
make a profit on a half-point move.
I will soon be setting up the portfolio for this hotline and will
provide buy/sell levels for stocks mentioned, as well as the indices and
the DJIA.

WSOL COMMENT 2
The rest of the Wall Street Online messages:
Previous Market Commentary
The WEDNESDAY Report, May 31st, 1989
Our indicators are still giving off mixed signals, but they suggest that
there might be more room on the upside, possibly to 2560.
Reebok again looks as if it is ready to make another move to 15, but it
has made these attempts many times before and has not succeeded. I have
opted to buy the July 15 calls as an inexpensive (although risky) way to
participate.
Note: I have decided, after talking with many of you, to introduce some
uniformity in the hotline. The framework will always be the same: I
will first indicate our predictions as to short-term market direction
and then the direction for the intermediate term (3 months or longer).
I will then set up a portfolio and indicate at what levels stocks can be
purchased and when to consider selling. This will enable everyone to
keep up with our many recommendations. If this approach is useful, I
will continue to use it in the future.
Previous Market Commentary
The SUNDAY Report, May 28th, 1989
Our indicators are still giving mixed signals, but they favor the
upside.
Favorites will be the high quality issues, such as AT&T (T), GE, Ford
(F) and Phillips (P).
Stock prices of small companies are exploding. One of our
recommendations, CCTC (you had to have patience for this one), moved in
a narrow range for months, but last week moved from 2 1/4 to 3 1/4, a
40% rise. Barry Wright (BAR), another of our recent recommendations,
moved from 5 1/4 to 7 1/2 in one day, also, a 40% rise.
The Zweig Fund (ZF) moves slowly, but is a safe bet to be bought in
quantity: it pays a dividend of almost 10%. Scitex (SCIFX) continues to
move higher, and reached 13 3/8 last week.
Seagate (SGAT) could move to 17/18; Mattel (MAT) to 16; and Josten (JOS)
to 23/24.
Stay invested with about 20 to 30% of your funds and hedge with puts if
you own many stocks. Risktakers can buy June OEX 310 calls, preferably
at 1 or lower. Another good buy is Phillips (P) Aug 25 calls at about
3/4.
Previous Market Commentary
The Wednesday Report, May 24th, 1989
The market, as we anticipated, backed off briefly and although we might
have some sideways movement, it appears ready to start moving higher.
Our indicators are giving off mixed signals: some are still calling for
a further drop in the Dow 30. However, a key indicator that has been
correct, the Advance/Decline Line is signalling another move higher.
One of our stock recommendations, one that we've often said will move
higher, Barry Wright (BAR), moved from 5 1/8 to 7 1/2 in one day.
Patience sometimes pays off. Another of our favorites, Chips &
Technologies (CHPS), which moved in a few days from 18 to 25, backed off
briefly to 23 1/2 but did not stay down for long and closed at 24 3/4, a
strong showing. I forgot to mention that this stock has options.
At this stage, buying puts and calls on the OEX is the best atrategy for
this type of market. The June OEX 310 calls and the June 290 puts
appear to be the best bets.
As for stocks, I still like Phillips (P), which also has options;
Telephone (T); GE; and Reebok (RBK). I recommend Beverly (BEV) for the
patient.
Our Japanese Yen Expert System is near a buy signal, which suggests that
the dollar will be moving lower soon.

Clem, next time you're on Don Shepherdson's BBS, tell Dave Runkle that
BASIC (compiled or otherwise) takes over a lot of interrupt vectors (i.e.,
assumes that it's the only thing running on the system), which would cause
problems with DESQview or any other multitasking program. I've tried to
compile QuickBASIC programs and then run them under DESQview and have had
mixed success, mostly bad. I can't get my SMARTZIP program (written in QB
4.5 and compiled to a .EXE file) to do anything other than lock up DV.
Give Dave my warmest regards and ask him when he's going to feel up to

including the ability to do online trading 24 hours a day with their

opens in any specific category that you queue up trades for. I still have
to do a lot of wading through the documentation so I can't talk very
intelligently about the product. Hopefully, I can say more about it in a

Sure, you can queue up multiple trades, but there's no guarantee that
you'll get the spread or the volume you want. That is, there's no way to
make multiple trades interdependent. Suppose I want to do a debit spread
on 10 option contracts. There's no way to specify that the trades be
executed as a unit with a particular spread, all or none. What happens if
you get one side executed but not the other? Or you get the ten
contracts on one side but fewer than ten on the other? All kinds of ugly
scenarios can be imagined.

Ah ha! Now I get what you mean. Well, it sounds like a good suggestion
for the next release of the product. So far, everything seems to work
very well.

the DJ News Rerieval User's Guide, it helps negotiate the system. I had
problems with Ver. 1.5, it will not recognize some modems. This version
had problems at 2400 Baud, but seems to work okay with a upgrade disk they
sent. I haven't done any trading with it yet. Takes time to get all the
